Visiting a spa quite frequently can prove to be quite expensive. Instead, why not treat yourself to homemade facials. Firstly, it is not so hard. All the ingredients are available in your kitchen and are easy to make. Here a few homemade facials that you can try:
For oily skin:
Apple Zinger Facial Mask
Ingredients: 1 apple (grated) and five tablespoons of warm honey
Method: Stir the grated apple and honey together. Apply it on your face while making sure it is cream-free. Leave the mask on your face for about ten minutes and then wash it off with warm water.
Strawberry Lemon Mask
Ingredients: two egg whites, one teaspoon lemon juice, three teaspoons honey, one cup of strawberries
Method: Blend all the ingredients together and then apply it on your face. Leave the mask on for ten minutes and then wash off with warm water.
For dry skin:
Avocado and Carrot Facial Mask
Ingredients: half a ripe avocado, 1 carrot, one-tablespoon olive oil
Method: Cook the carrot in boiling water until it is soft and then blend it with the ripe avocado and olive oil. Apply it on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes and no longer. Wash it off with warm water and pat your face dry.
Yoghurt Walnut Scrub
Ingredients: ¼ cup plain, chilled yoghurt, ¼-cup ground walnuts
Method: Stir the yoghurt and ground walnuts. Apply it on your face. Gently massage it in, so it exfoliates your skin. Wash it off with warm water.
For normal skin:
Papaya Facial Mask
Ingredients: papaya
Method: Peel the papaya and ensure all the seeds are removed. Chop it up and blend it using a blender or a food processor until it becomes a smooth paste. Use only ½ a tablespoon per facial. You can store the rest in your refrigerator in a bag. This mask is awesome to combat oil and dead skin cells.
Cucumber and Yogurt Facial Mask
Ingredients: ½ cucumber, 1-tablespoon yoghurt
Method: Puree the yoghurt and cucumber in a blender and then spread it across your face evenly. Leave it on for around 15 minutes and then rinse off with cool water.
