How to maintain youthful skin

As we grow older, we will be more and more concerned about preserving our youthful looks. Ageing is a natural process, but can we slow down the process and maintain, wrinkle free, spotless skin?

You have no doubt checked out all the anti-ageing products in the market. These can be very costly and may not be effective. But all you need is to make some simple changes in your lifestyle and you will see the results immediately.

Drink at least eight glasses of water a day. It will hydrate the skin and prevent dryness which causes wrinkles. The skin tends to dry out more with ageing; therefore it is important to keep the skin hydrated.

Avoid stress. Chemicals released in the body as a result of stress can cause damage to the skin. This can result in dark under eye circles, age spots and wrinkles to appearing.

Avoid excessive smoking and alcohol: smoking damages the collagen in the skin, which will result in wrinkles. Excessive consumption of alcohol has the effect of drying out the skin as well as leaving it looking dull.
Get enough sleep: you need at least seven hours sleep a night to repair and relax the skin cells that were damaged.
