How to protect your lash extensions

Many use lash extensions in order to improve their beauty and look of their eyes. Here are few do’s and don’ts to get lasting results of your new lash extensions.

  • Do your research before getting an extension. Certain states such as California do require lash artists to carry state licenses. In order to get a California license, a cosmetologist should complete required education as well as training.
  • In lash extensions, adhesive used is important. It should be non-formaldehyde.
  • Make sure the extensions are single oppose to clusters.
  • Do not wet your new lash extensions within the first 24 – 48 hours. Similarly steam rooms and hot yoga should also be avoided.
  • Avoid excessive touch and pull within initial time period allowing your lashes to stick to your natural lashes.
  • A trained professional should remove your lashes.
  • In order to avoid loosening the adhesive, avoid using heavy cream, oils, shampoo and conditioner on your new lash extensions.
  • After taking a shower, gently comb your lashes to fan out. You can use a blow dryer on “cool” setting to dry them.
  • You still need to nourish your own natural lashes to make their follicles stronger in order to hold extensions. Use a growth serum or eyelash conditioner.
